Petitioner sought the sealing of tube wells contaminated with arsenic. In a ruling in favor of the petitioner, the Supreme Court declared that the right to health includes the right to access safe and potable water.

The Law on Energy is governed by the principle that energy is managed on the basis of utility, rationality, fair efficiency, value added improvement, sustainability, people welfare, living environment preservation, national tenacity and integrity principles by prioritizing the national capability. It provides that energy resources of fossil, geothermal, large scale hydro and nuclear energy sources are controlled by the state and utilized for the maximum welfare of the people.

The Act established the regulatory framework which governs the energy sector of Tonga and the Electricity Commission as a body corporate.

The issuance governs investment projects according to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and policies applied to investment projects according to CDM. It defines a CDM project as a production investment project applying advanced and environment-friendly technology which results in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction, approved for registration and issuance of GHG emission reduction certificate by the International Executive Board on CDM. It also provides for the management, sale, and utilization of Certified Emissions Reductions, which are credits issued to a CDM project by International Executive Board.

The Malaysian Biofuel Industry Act 2007 provides for the mandatory use of biofuel. It requires a license for persons commencing or engaging in activities such as construction of biofuel plant, production or blending of biofuel, blending, export, import, transport, storage, survey or testing of biofuels.

The Act provided the regulations on the financial management of the Royal Government of Bhutan in order to ensure the efficient use of public resources.

The Act enunciates the State's policy to protect the marine wealth of its archipelagic waters and adopt the internationally accepted measures which impose strict liability for oil pollution damage, and ensure prompt and adequate compensation therefor.
