Public Finance Act, 2007 (Bhutan)
The Act states that the fiscal affairs of the government shall be managed in accordance with the fiscal sustainability and transparency principles enumerated therein. The Parliament shall raise revenue through taxes and shall appropriate money for the requirements of the State. It provides the powers and functions of the Lhengye Zhungstog, the Ministry of Finance and the Royal Audit Authority, and defines the responsibilities and prohibitions applicable to officials assigned to a budgetary body and other local authorities. It lays down the rules on government budget and reports, state enterprises, escrow monies and the government's non-budgetary funds.
