General Comment No. 2 of the UN Committee against Torture recognizes that the principle of non-discrimination is a basic and general principle in the protection of human rights. Energy Conservation Promotion Act (No. 2), 2007 (Thailand)

The Energy Conservation Promotion Act (No. 2) of 2007 amends the law of the same title enacted in 1992. It replaces the reference to the Science, Technology and Energy Minister in the original law with the Minister of Energy. It adds among the subjects upon which Ministerial Regulations may be issued, the establishment of energy efficiency standards of machinery or equipment, and the requirement for manufacturers and distributors of machinery to illustrate the level or energy efficiency. It also replaces the "Fund for Promotion of Energy Conservation" under the Ministry of Finance with the "Energy Conservation Promotion Fund" under the Ministry of Energy, as the fund to be used for working capital, grants or subsidies for the implementation of energy conservation-related work.
