The Biofuels Act of 2006 declares that it is the policy of the State to reduce dependence on imported fuels with due regard to the protection of public health, the environment, and natural ecosystems. The Act provides for the mandatory use of biofuels, requiring the blending of bioethanol into gasoline and biodiesel into diesel, within the periods and in the proportions specified.

The Regulation was issued in view of the necessity to take strategic measures capable of boosting the growth of investments, accelerating timber estate development, controlling forest degradation and enhancing national economy, including economy of communities inside and around forests through deregulation and de-bureaucratization on the basis of the principles of good governance and sustainable forest management. The Regulation provides that forest management and formulation of forest management plans, as well as forest exploitation, is under the authority of the government and regional governments.

The Royal Decree establishes the public organization Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization. The organization furthers climate change action in Thailand by advancing the greenhouse gas (GHG) quantity trading, enhancing efficiency in the operations on GHG by giving guidance to public agencies and private bodies, and to disseminate information and undertake public relations campaigns on GHG management, among others.

The Act provides a comprehensive labor market legislation on employment and working conditions.

The National Disaster Management Act establishes a National Disaster Committee which mainly advises, coordinates, and ensures implementation of matters relating to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. The Act likewise establishes the National Disaster Management Office, the National Disaster Preparedness Working Group, and Island Disaster Committee.

The Act established the foundation of education, and provided its fundamental aims and principles in order to develop the democratic and cultural state of Japan.

The goal of the National Adaptation Programme of Action is to present a coherent framework to climate change adaptation that enhances the resilience of the natural, human, and social systems and ensures their sustainability in the face of predicted climate hazards. It identifies the following key areas of climate change-related vulnerabilities: land, beach and human settlements; critical infrastructure; tourism; fisheries; human health; water resources; agriculture and food security; and coral reef biodiversity.

The Environment (Prescribed Activities) Regulation classifies activities into Levels 1, 2 or 3 for purposes of the requirement in the Environmental Act to secure permits for Level 2 and 3 activities. The Regulation contains schedules listing down activities classified as Levels 2 and 3, while Level 1 activities are those not falling within the schedules.

The Oil and Gas Regulations provide guidelines with respect to health, safety and other operations standards for project operations in the oil and gas industry. They also contain environmental, engineering, mechanical, geological and electrical guidelines which must be observed.

The Rural Energy Policy has been formulated in view of the absence of an overall rural energy policy, although existing policies and goals provide some general guidelines for the rural energy development. The overall goal of the Policy is to contribute to rural poverty reduction and environmental conservation by ensuring access to clean, reliable and appropriate energy in the rural areas.
