Watte Gedara Wijebanda vs. Conservator General of Forests 2009 1 Sri LR 337, p. 356 (Sri Lanka)
The petition was filed alleging denial of equal protection when a quarry mining permit in an environmentally sensitive area was denied the petitioner but granted to another party. The court found that while the petitioner was denied equal protection, due to environmental considerations, the area should in fact be closed to mining and the permit was improperly granted to the other party.
