Creating the Presidential Task Force on Climate Change, DENR Administrative Order No. 171 of 2007 (Amended by Executive Order order No. 774 of 2008), Philippines

The Administrative Order creates the Presidential Task Force on Climate Change (PTFCC). The PTFCC shall be composed of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources as Chair, with Secretaries of Energy, Science and Technology, Agriculture, and Interior and Local Government, with two representatives from the private sector/civil society as members. The Task Force shall have the function of conducting rapid assessment on the impact of climate change to the Philippine setting, ensuring strict compliance to air emission standards, combating deforestation, environmental degradation, undertaking/ initiating strategic approaches and measures to prevent or reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the Philippines, conduct public information and awareness campaign, design concrete risk reduction and mitigation measures and adaptation responses, collaborate with international partners to support a global front to stabilize GHG emissions, cause the integration and mainstreaming of climate risk management into existing development policies.
