Infusion of Foreign Equity in the Capital of Rural Banks, Republic Act No. 10574 (Philippines)

The Rural Bank Act of 1992 required that the capital stock of rural banks shall only be owned directly or indirectly by citizens of the Philippines or corporations, associations or cooperatives qualified under Philippine laws to own and hold such capital stock. The amendment allowed the infusion of foreign equity into Rural Banks.
