The Act provides for labor and social legislation covering the rights, benefits of domestic workers and also lays down provisions for their protection.

The Climate Change Act of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) mandates the preparation of plans and policies on climate change consistent with the Climate Change Policy, directing particular departments and agencies of government to implement the mandate. It also directs the President of the FSM to submit a report to Congress on the implementation of the Climate Change Policy every year, starting with Fiscal Year 2015, and recommend additional legislation where necessary.

The Act ratifies the Statute of the International Renewable Energy Agency. A copy of the statute is attached to the Act.

The Act penalizes and prohibits secret detention places, solitary confinement, incommunicado or other similar forms of detention.

The Act serves to regulate education across all levels from early childhood to tertiary education in the Cook Islands.

The Act provides for the establishment of a Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority to ensure energy security. Its function shall include assisting the government in coordinating the implementation of renewable energy development-related activities in government, semi-government and autonomous bodies, and to formulate, update and implement policies made under this act, including the revision of the Renewable Energy Policy.

The Doha Amendment supersedes the original Annex B of the Kyoto Protocol, imposing new quantified emission limitation or reduction targets for the parties listed in the annex. Moreover, it establishes the second commitment period from 2013 to 2020.

The Kiribati Integrated Environment Policy is founded on the vision that the people of Kiribati continue to enjoy a safe and healthy environment that is resilient to the impacts of global climate change and supports livelihoods, human health, and sustainable development. The Policy identifies goals organized into five thematic areas, specifically, climate change, island biodiversity conservation and management, waste management and pollution control, resource management, and environmental governance.
