Domestic Workers Act, Republic Act No. 10361 (Philippines)

The Act sets forth the rights and privileges of domestic workers including: 

  • Standard of treatment which prohibits any form of abuse, violence or harassment
  • Provision for board, lodging and medical attendance
  • Guarantee of privacy
  • Access to outside communication
  • Right to education and training, among others

The Act provides for the terms and conditions of a domestic worker's employment, including the employer's obligation to safeguard their health and safety, a domestic worker's rest period, and the rate and payment of wages. It shall be unlawful to interfere with the domestic workers' disposal of their wages and to withhold their wages.
