Federated States of Micronesia Climate Change Act, 2013

The Climate Change Act of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is in furtherance of the provisions on climate change of its national-wide Integrated Disaster and Climate Change Policy. It introduces legal obligations for departments and agencies of the National Government, providing an overarching framework for further legislation on climate change. It mandates the preparation of plans and policies on climate change consistent with the Climate Change Policy, particularly directing the Department of Resources and Development, Office of Environment and Emergency Management, Department of Transportation, Communications and Infrastructure, Department of Health and Social Affairs, Department of Education, Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Statistics, Budget and Economic Management, and the Department of Foreign Affairs to implement such mandate. It also directs the President of the FSM to submit a report to Congress on the implementation of the Climate Change Policy every year, starting with Fiscal Year 2015, and recommend additional legislation where necessary.
