Salman Akram Raja vs. The Government of Punjab through Chief Secretary, Civil Secretariat, Lahore and Others, 2013 SCMR 203 (Pakistan)

In a case of rape committed against a 13-year old girl, negligence in the police investigation caused a public uproar. However, after the case progressed, the father entered into a compromise with the accused, prompting civil society groups to file a petition that the out-of-court settlement constitutes a mockery of justice since offenses are not against a single person but the whole of society. In disposing of the petition, the Supreme Court laid down new guidelines for the authorities concerned with the investigation and prosecution of all rape matters.

The National Climate Change Policy of Pakistan aims to ensure that climate change is mainstreamed in the economically and socially vulnerable sectors of the economy and to steer Pakistan towards climate resilient development. It sets out Pakistan's climate change adaptation policy measures, concerning water resources, agriculture and livestock, human health, forestry, biodiversity, vulnerable ecosystems, disaster preparedness, and socioeconomic measures. It also sets out the climate change mitigation policy measures which cover energy, energy efficiency and conservation, transport, town planning, industries, agriculture and livestock, and carbon sequestration and forestry.
