National Green Growth Strategy, PM Decision No. 1393/QD-TTg, 2012 (Viet Nam)
The overall objective of the strategy is to use green growth as a means to achieve a low-carbon economy and to enrich natural capital, which will become the principal direction in sustainable economic development. The strategy notes that reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and increased capability to absorb GHG are becoming important indicators in socio-economic development. The strategy also identifies specific objectives under the overall objective.
Furthermore, it identifies strategic tasks in order to achieve the avowed objectives. These include:
- Reducing the intensity of GHG emissions and promote the use of clean and renewable energy
- Greening production
- Greening lifestyle
- Promoting sustainable consumption
The Strategy identifies solutions to issues and challenges of green growth, as well as the organization for implementation of the strategy.
