General Assembly Resolution 48/104, Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, A/RES/48/104
The Declaration proclaims that Discrimination against women, denying or limiting as it does their equality of rights with men, is fundamentally unjust and constitutes an offense against human dignity. Thus, all appropriate measures shall be taken to abolish existing laws, customs, regulations and practices that are discriminatory against women and to establish adequate legal protection for the equal rights of men and women.

The Executive Order established the Committee on Power Conservation and Demand Management (Committee) as a regular and permanent body. Its powers and functions include undertaking information dissemination campaigns to create greater awareness of power conservation measures and promoting an environment that will be conducive to free and active private sector participation, and initiatives in power conservation activities.

Juan Antonio, Anna Rosario and Jose Alfonso Oposa, Minors, and Represented by their Parents Antonio and Rizalina Oposa, et al. v. The Honorable Fulgencio S. Factoran, Jr., in his Capacity as the Secretary of the DENR (Philippines)
The petition against the continued issuance of logging licenses was brought by petitioner minors, on behalf of their generation, as well as generations yet unborn. It argued that if current logging rates continue, the Philippines would be bereft of forest cover in a decade. The court found that petitioners had personality to sue in behalf of succeeding generations on the concept of intergenerational responsibility. It recognized that petitioners have a clear right to a balanced and healthful ecology and that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources has an obligation to protect it.

Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, 25 June 1993
The Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action reaffirms the solemn commitment of all States to fulfill their obligations to promote universal respect for, and observance and protection of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for all in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations' other instruments relating to human rights and international law. It also specifically states that gender-based violence and all forms of sexual harassment and exploitation, including those resulting from cultural prejudice and international trafficking, are incompatible with the dignity and worth of the human person and must be eliminated.
