Plant Protection Act (2007)
This Act aims to prevent the introduction and spread of pests when importing and exporting plants and plant products and to promote trade in plants and plant products by adopting appropriate measures for their effective control.
Environment Protection Act, Act 24, 1997
This Act provides for the protection of the environment with the proper use and management of natural resources. Any person, governmental, semi-governmental or non-governmental agency or institution shall submit an Initial Environmental Examination or Environmental Impact Assessment report.

Electricity Rules (1993)
These Rules implement various provisions of the Electricity Act, 2049 (1992). The Rules set out procedures and requirements for obtaining licences for the transmission, production or distribution of electricity. The Rules provide for formats of licences, terms and conditions of licences and licence fees.
Water Resources Act (1992)
The Act (25 articles) is a framework act for the rational utilization and conservation of the water resources. It establishes broad regulation making powers for a range of subjects, it sets out certain free water uses as well as priority rules for the allocation of water. It further creates the legal framework for Water Users Associations, for persons who are willing to make use of the water resources for collective benefits.
Land Act (1992)
Section 2 (definitions) is amended by adding definitions of 'boundary', and 'plot'. Section 3 is amended by providing anew for the power of the Government to issue orders for the measurement and survey of lands and the correction of mistakes in survey by the Survey Officer. Section 4, here amended, concerns the calculation of the area of land. A new section (5A) prescribes that Government and other public lands are to be surveyed and mapped first.
Solid Waste Act (1987)
This Act provides for the management of solid waste. The Act provides for the establishment of the Solid Waste Management and Resource Mobilization Centre, defines its composition and specifies its functions and duties which include: undertake basic construction, repair and maintenances works in order to control solid wastes; make available a container service for the purpose of disposing of, keeping, or dumping solid wastes; make appropriate arrangements for transportation of the collected solid wastes to the transit point, the place where solid wastes are finally disposed of; make necessary arrangements for the disposal of solid wastes in a pollution free manner; produce briquettes, compost fertilizer or bio-gas from the collected solid waste; classify harmful solid waste; and conduct or cause to conduct study and research required for management, control, and resource mobilization concerning solid wastes.
Mines and Minerals Act (1985)
This Act provides for the development of mines and mineral deposits existing in the country. The Act classifies minerals based on their nature and importance as specified in section 3A.
National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (1993)
Several amendments are made to the National Parks and Wild Life Conservation Act. The principal amendment is made by introducing the concept of 'buffer zone', defined as the area around national parks or reserves prescribed in order to provide the local inhabitants the facility of utilizing forest products on a regular basis. Consequently, Sections 3A, 3B and 3C are added, regarding the power to prescribe buffer zone, the conservation and management of buffer zone and the compensation to be paid by inhabitants. Other amendments concern enforcement measures and penalties.
Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar
The Constitution contains the provisions which delineate the intellectual property rights. Chapter VIII related to Citizen, Fundamental Rights and Duties of the Citizens indirectly guarantees the exercise of intellectual property rights in Article 349, c-f (rights to carry out the functions in technical know-how, technology, science, exploration of arts, business and trade) and in Article 354. d (rights to develop language, literature and culture).
