An Act to provide for a system of marine parks for the State; and for other purposes.

River Murray Waters Agreement Supplemental Agreement Act

An Act to ratify and approve an agreement entered into between the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth and the Premiers of the States of New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia respecting the waters of the Darling River stored at Menindee in the State of New South Wales in the connected series of lake storages collectively known as the Menindee Lake Storage, and for other purposes.

Water Industry Act

An Act to facilitate planning in connection with water demand and supply; to regulate the water industry, including by providing for the establishment of a licensing regime and providing for the regulation of prices, customer service standards, technical standards for water and sewerage infrastructure and installations and plumbing, and by providing performance monitoring of the water industry; to provide for other measures relevant to the use and management of water; to make amendments to various related Acts; to repeal the Sewerage Act 1929, the Water Conservation Act 1936 and the Waterworks Act 1932; and for other purposes.

Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (South Australia) Act

An Act to apply the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards Act 2005 of the Commonwealth as a law of this State; to repeal the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards Act 2006; and for other purposes.

Minerals Law

This Law regulates the affairs related to determining the ownership and control of the State over mineral deposits and provides for the preservation, management, utilization and support of State, private and joint investments in the mining sector operations.

Water (Commonwealth Powers) Act

An Act to refer certain matters relating to water management to the Commonwealth Parliament for the purposes of section 51(xxxvii) of the Constitution of the Commonwealth.

Environmental Law

This Law provides for the rehabilitation of the environment, and the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, living and non-living organisms. The Law consists of 9 Chapters divided into 82 articles.The National Environmental Protection Agency shall be responsible for the implementation of this Law.

Constitution of Afghanistan

The 2004 Constitution was designed to take into account the social, political, and religious dynamic of Afghanistan, and it established an Islamic Republic. The Constitution recognizes Islam as the national religion, commits to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and pledges to fight terrorism and narcotics production. Power is divided between the President, the National Assembly, the Grand Assembly, and the Supreme Court.

Mining Regulations

These Regulations implement provisions of the Minerals Law and aim at: the conservation, management, development and proper use of the mineral resources of the nation; promoting the rational exploration, development, exploitation and mineral processing in a combined effort of the Government and private sector; and at enhancing national growth in a way to safeguard the environment.

This report provides an overview of the state of the natural environment in South Asia, including emerging trends, taking into account socio-economic factors.South Asia occupies about 5 percent of the world’s land mass, but is home to about 20 percent of the world’s population. This is expected to rise to about 25 percent by 2025. Three-quarters of South Asia’s population lives in rural areas, with one-third living in extreme poverty (on less than a dollar a day).
