Territorial Waters of Brunei Act, 1983
This Law is composed of 4 articles. The breadth of the territorial sea of the State of Brunei shall be twelve nautical miles, measured in accordance with international law (art. 1). A large scale map of low water marks, baselines, and outer limits and territorial waters of Brunei shall be published on order of the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan.
Mining Act, 1920
The Law provides for mining and exploitation of mineral resources as natural gas, petroleum, crude oil and assorted minerals. Prospectors must apply for a prospecting licence that shall be granted after the payment of a fee. Lands alienated for the purpose of mining operations shall be paid off as rent and royalties. Lands comprise also the continental shelf. Mining leases shall comply with land laws as per the survey, delimitations, land tenure and revenues and acquisition. In the attached Schedules are listed the mining lease forms for the prospecting of minerals, according to the kind and quantity.
Electricity Act (Chapter 71)
An Act to provide for the regulation and control of electrical installations and of the generation, supply and use of electrical energy, and to create criminal offences in connection therewith.
Ports Act (Chapter 144)
An Act to provide for the regulation and control of the ports and waters of Brunei, for the erection and maintenance of lighthouses and navigational aids and for purposes incidental thereto.
Agricultural Pests and Noxious Plants Act (Chapter 43)
An Act to provide for the protection of plants and cultivated products from diseases and to provide for the destruction of pests and noxious plants.
Water Supply Act (Chapter 121)
An Act to provide for the control and regulation of the supply of water.
Buffaloes and other cattle (restrictions on slaughter, export and transfer) Rules
These Rules, subject to the provisions of section 3 of the Buffaloes Act, prohibit the slaughter, export or transfer of cattle from one district to another without the permission of the Director of Agriculture.
