The Asian Development Bank Supports the Operationalization of Cambodia's First Commercial Court

Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director Jyotsana Varma and Minister of Justice, His Excellency Koeut Rith, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking an important step towards in operationalizing Cambodia's first commercial court, a top priority of the Ministry of Justice. 

 

ADB agreed to assist in the development of efficient, fair and effective commercial court procedures and work with the Royal Academy of Judicial Professions to train judges who will adjudicate commercial disputes. The Minister of Justice expressed his deep appreciation for ADB's support. It is an indispensable move to help Cambodia attract and retain high-quality investment by establishing a business climate that operates in a clear and predictable legal framework, with a reliable, efficient and transparent dispute resolution system.
