On 16-17 October 2024, ADB and Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) held stakeholder consultations on the draft Cambodia E-commerce Trustmark Scheme (CETS) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. MOC Secretary of State Chea Ratha and MOC Legal Affairs Department Director Sam Chetra acknowledged the timeliness and significance of ADB’s support for CETS, which will strengthen Cambodia's e-commerce ecosystem and boost the competitiveness and reputation of e-commerce operators.

ADB Cambodia Resident Mission Country Director Jyotsana Varma emphasized that an e-commerce trustmark builds consumer confidence by ensuring website security, ethical practices, and consumer rights protection. A trustmark is crucial for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to expand domestically and enter the global market.

Over 80 participants from various ministries, public sector agencies, MSMEs, large enterprises, and chambers of commerce attended the consultations. The event was led by ADB’s Law and Policy Reform Program.
