Basic Law of Hong Kong

In accordance with the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, the National People's Congress hereby enacts the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, prescribing the systems to be practised in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in order to ensure the implementation of the basic policies of the People's Republic of China regarding Hong Kong.

Wildlife Protection Act, 2006

This Act amends the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. Its purpose is to strengthen the conservation of tigers and other endangered species by combating crimes against them through the special Crime Control Bureau.

Law on Electricity

This Law aims to regulate the power sector in the Kingdom of Cambodia.The Law aims to: establish principles for operation of the electric power industry and for the activities of licencees in the provision of electric power services; regulate the supply of electric power services; establish principles for the protection of consumers' rights; establish conditions for the investments in the electric power industry; etc.

Law on Environmental Protection and Natural Resource Management (1996)

The Law on Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Management is widely implemented by the Ministry of Environment, other government institutions and relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, the law is a basic tool to prepare other laws in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Sub-Decree on Environmental Impact Assessment Process

This Decree aims to define an environmental impact assessment on all projects being evaluated by the Ministry of Environment.

Sub-Decree No. 35 on creation of a National Committee for Managing Climate Change

This Sub-Decree provides for the establishment of a National Committee for Managing Climate Change which shall prepare, coordinate and follow-up the implementation of policies, strategies, plans and programs of the Royal Government aimed at meeting issues to prevent any climate change in the country, and to protect the environment and national resources.

Law on the Establishment of the Ministry of Environment

The Ministry of Environment is established under the jurisdiction of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The Ministry shall administer and manage the environment in Cambodia. It is headed by a Minister assisted by a secretary of State and/or Under secretary. Details of organization and functioning of the Ministry shall be established by Decree. All provisions contrary to the provisions of this Law are abrogated.

Law on Environmental Protection and Natural Resource Management

The law, in common, addresses the summarised environmental fields, e.g. environmental and natural resources management and protection, public participation, etc. In this regard, for effective implementation, the law has decided to set up related Sub-Decrees as required. The law can be amended when the Royal Government and relevant ministries recognised that it has gaps.

Sub-Decree No. 47 on the creation of the National Clean Environment Day

The National Clean Environment Day is instituted and shall be celebrated the 23rd of November every year to ecreate a national awareness on the protection of the environment and the prevention and control of pollution. All citizens, armed forces , institutions and organizations , together with the appointed authorities, shall participate in cleaning and environment-friendly activities trough the day.

Sub-Decree No. 143 (RGC) on the establishment of protected Forest zone and conservation of biodiversity

This Sub-Decree aims at establishing protected forest zones and conservation of biodiversity located in Mondulkiri and Kratie provinces. The organization and functioning of the conservation zones will be determined by a Prakas of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
