Wild Fauna and Flora Order, 2007

This Order provides for giving effect in Brunei Darussalam to the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.The Order sets out procedures and requirements for obtaining permits and certificates to trade in, export or import any species listed in the Appendixes to the Convention. The permits shall be granted by the Director of the Forestry Department.The Order further provides for: effects of permits and certificates; powers of investigation, arrest, search, seizure, etc. of authorized officers; offences and penalties; etc.

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Authorized Organizations) Regulations, 2008

These Regulations specify the organizations authorized to survey or inspect Brunei Darussalam ships and to issue any certificate.

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Garbage) Regulations, 2008

These Regulations prescribe measures for the prevention of disposal into the sea of garbage specified in the text.The Regulations provide for: requirements for the disposal of garbage outside or within special areas; special requirements for disposal of garbage; restrictions on the entry into the Antarctic area of Brunei Darussalam ships; garbage reception facilities; garbage management plans that certain ships must carry; garbage record books; offences; etc.

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Reporting of Pollution Incidents) Regulations, 2008

These Regulations implement some of the provisions of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Order, 2005.The Regulations provide for: duties of the master of any ship to report discharges of harmful substances into any part of the sea; contents of the report and reporting procedures; duties of terminal operators or persons in charge of the apparatus to report discharges of oil, oily mixtures and substances from terminals or apparatuses; etc.

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations, 2008

These Regulations implement some of the provisions of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Order, 2005.The Regulations provide for: powers of the Director of Marine to grant exemptions from all or any of these regulations for any ship; powers of surveyors of ships to inspect any ship in order to verify that it carries a valid Certificate for the Carriage of Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk; the prohibition on proceeding to sea without a certificate; BNLS Certificates; offences and penalties; fees; etc.

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Order, 2005

An Order to give effect to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified and added to by the Protocol of 1978, and to other international agreements relating to the prevention, reduction and control of pollution of the sea and pollution from ships; to make provision generally for the protection of the marine environment and for the prevention, reduction and control of pollution of the sea and pollution from ships, and for matters related thereto.

Protected Places Order, 2008

This Order declares the place specified in the Schedule to be a protected place and it shall be prohibited to enter the place without the permission of the Director of Electrical Services.

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Compoundable Offences) Regulations, 2008

These Regulations specify offences which may be prescribed as a compoundable offence.

Merchant Shipping (Civil Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution) (Compulsory Insurance) Regulations, 2008

These Regulations prescribe fees to be paid in relation to the issue, replacement, inspection of certificates which show that there is a contract of insurance in force in respect of the ship and provide for the cancellation and delivery up to the Director of the certificate.

Protected Areas and Protected Places Act (Chapter 147)

This Act prescribes steps necessary for the protection of any protected area or protected place. No person shall be in the premises of protected areas or places unless in possession of a permit issued by an authorized officer.The Act further provides for defensive measures which involve or may involve danger to the life of any person entering or attempting to enter a protected area or protected place.
