Roadmap to Institutionalize Natural Capital Accounting in the Philippines
This Roadmap to Institutionalize Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) provides guidance for the national implementation of NCA from 2022 to 2040.
The Roadmap includes an assessment of past and current initiatives to institutionalize and highlights overarching frameworks for NCA institutionalization before proceeding to present the NCA Roadmap.
The Roadmap has six (6) components:
- Development of natural capital accounts
- Calculation of natural capital-adjusted macroeconomic indicators
- Policy use and application of natural capital-adjusted macroeconomic indicators
- Data management systems
- Capacity development
- Dissemination
The Roadmap also outlines key activities, milestones, and outputs for each planning period to fully institutionalize and integrate NCA into government planning, investment decisions, and policymaking processes.
