Guidelines on the Issuance, Use and Redemption of Gift Checks, Certificates of Gift Cards in accordance with the Consumer Price Act, Department of Trade and Industry Department Administrative Order No. 10-04, Series of 2010 (Philippines)
The guidelines prohibit the issuance and/or sale of gift certificates, check or card which contains an expiry date, and as such, shall be redeemable until it is used by the bearer. For purchase of gift certificates, check or card, the laws on promotional programs, warranties, return policies, as well as senior citizens/persons with disability discounts are applicable. They also provide for the grounds when suppliers of gift certificates, check or card may refuse to honor the same.
