Energy Conservation (Fuel Economy and Vehicular Emissions Labelling) Regulations 2012 (Singapore)

The Regulations require authorized dealers, manufacturers or importer of motor vehicles to submit the required documents including the fuel economy, emission, fuel consumption and carbon dioxide of motor vehicles pursuant to the requirements on fuel economy and vehicular emissions under the Energy Conservation Act of 2012. 

The Regulations provide the contents of a vehicular emission label which include:

  • The fuel consumption or electric energy consumption
  • Vehicular emissions
  • Emission band
  • Vehicle make and model
  • Engine capacity
  • Fuel type of the vehicle

Such vehicular emission label must be affixed in a conspicuous position on the front windscreen of the motor vehicle to which it relates, before such motor vehicle can be sold or offered for sale by any person.
