S.K. Sharma

Head, Geography and Environmental Science Department

S.K. Sharma is teaching India’s perceptions, positions, policies and possibilities on climate Change. This includes, inter-alia, India’s perceptions and policies on the water resources and water quality.

He was invited to attended the Workshop on Climate Variability, Climate Change and Water Resources Management of the 3rd World Water Forum (WWF) at Kyoto in Japan in 2001 and received “One of the best water voice messengers” from Mr. R. Hashimoto, Ex. Prime Minister of Japan in an award ceremony in Kyoto on the 21st March, 2003.

Her have authored a text book “caring for environment” for students up to 12th class.

S.K. Sharma is a member of the following professional societies:

  • Life member of the International Association of Geochemistry and Cosmo chemistry (IAGC), Canada since 1989 ( first life member of IAGC).
  • Honorary member of the Association of Geoscientists for International Development (AGID), Brazil since 1991.
  • International Union of Forest Research Organization (IUFRO), Vienna, Austria
