Sakthivel Ponnusamy

MA, ML, Ph. D. Assistant Professor

Sakthivel Ponnusamy teaches at the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, India since August 2006. He has Masters in History (2002) and International Law and Constitutional Law (2004). His PhD focused on irrigation Laws from farmers' perspectives (2017). He teaches environmental law and human rights courses.

Sakthivel was the coordinator and one of the Senior Consultant to a consultancy awarded by Centre for Environmental Management and Decision Support, Vienna. He contributed a part of the final report of the project. He has presented and published papers relating to water, natural resources, waste management, sanitation and human rights. He has coordinated two national conferences on environmental laws and two state level workshops.He has visited many Indian states and Canberra, Australia and Belgrade, Serbia for academic conferences, workshops and field visits.
