Nuthamon Kongcharoen
Lecturer in Law
Nuthamon Kongcharoen obtained her first degree in law (LL.B) and second degree (LL.M – Public Law) from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
She began her career as a lecturer in law at Chiang Mai University in 1995, where she has been interested in law and society, and natural resource management. Subsequently, Nuthamon pursued further studies abroad: an LL.M from Indiana University – Indianapolis, USA. in the International Human Rights Law program; and her Ph.D in law from University of Victoria, Canada.
Her particular area of expertise is environmental law and natural resource management. She has conducted research on community rights and environmental conservation. Currently, her research concerns legal mechanisms for restoration of the environment and compensation for the victims of pollution.
