Mukesh Dhungana

Associate Professor Mukesh Dhungana is known due to his academic excellence since 2006 with Kathmandu school of Law. Soon after his completion of LLB Degree with special area on water and Environment Law in 2005, he started working as teaching assistant in Kathmandu school of law and completed his Master's Degree with specialization on Human Rights and Gender Justice. He then after, started pouring his ideas on different disciplines including Water, Energy, Environment and Legal System. He believes on Principle of praxis which allows him to serve as litigant on issues concerning environment.

He is further known to his dedication on Research, publications and participants in both national and international level conferences, seminars and workshops. This interest has qualified him to serve as Head of Academic Research Department of institution. His further affiliations are with the Appellate Court Bar, Human Rights and Peace society and Centre for Legal Research and Resource Development.

Mr Dhungana has accumulated enrich experience working as intern and employee different institutions including Pro-public, Development Law inc, The Asia Foundation and Kathmandu Upathayaka Khanipani Limited on various theme including Public interest litigation, Pro-bono Lawyering and Peace Building initiative. His continuous involvement in different training as an exceptional performer shows his keen interest in the area of water and energy sector. His further exposure was seen in participation of different academic projects like 4th surana and surana International Technology Law Moot Court, International seminar on Law of Sea, 18th South Asian Teaching Session on Humanitarian Law, South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (SAILS), Bangladesh, Training on a Human Rights Based Approach to Development Programming, organized by Danish Institute for Human Rights, (DIHR) Denmark and participation in International Bar Association Annual Conference, 2016 in Washington D.C, USA.

Evaluating his entire academic and litigant carrier, Mr Dhungana has been awarded with various prestigious achievements, which includes Best Clinical Teacher Award from SAILS, Bangladesh, Best Student award from Kathmandu School of Law and winner of IBA new member's competition. His academic journey is continuing with Kathmandu School of Law.
