Mohammad Golam Sarwar

Mohammad Golam Sarwar, an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Dhaka, is pursuing PhD in Law at SOAS University of London as a Commonwealth Scholar. He is also the Editor, Law& Our Rights, The Daily Star (The Largest English Daily in Bangladesh). He studied International Development Law from University of Warwick with Chevening Scholarship. He has published more than twelve journal articles so far in peer reviewed journals including Routledge, Springer and BRILL on various aspects of international law, environmental law and human rights. In addition to academic research, recently he has worked in a research project on clean river policy in urban Asia undertaken by the University of Oxford and funded by DFID, UK. 


He served different ministries of the Government, UN agencies, and national and international research organizations as a Consultant and drafted national action plans, study reports, legal reviews/opinion and policy briefs on legal and human rights issues. He served UN Women, UNDP, UNICEF, UNODC, ILO, IDLO, Swedwatch, UNHCR, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Law, Ministry of Home Affairs, as a Legal consultant in different research projects. His research interest includes Environmental Rule Law, Rights of Nature, Law and development, Business and human rights, Start-up and Innovation law, Labour rights and other inter-disciplinary issues.
