ADB Hosts Model Forest Act Initiative (MoFAI) Drafting Committee Meeting and Philippines Multi-Stakeholder Consultations
The Model Forest Act Initiative (MoFAI) is a novel effort to provide countries across the globe with a comprehensive and innovative blueprint for legislators, policymakers, and other stakeholders for the protection, conservation, restoration, and ecologically sustainable management of forests.
ADB Spearheads the Model Forest Act Initiative
On 17-18 2023 July in New York, ADB convened the launch of the Model Forest Act Initiative (MoFAI) with the Global Judicial Institute on the Environment, IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, UN Environment Programme, UN Forum on Forests, UN Development Programme and the World Bank.
ADB Engages in Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Forests and Protected Areas Law and Science
On 27-29 April 2023 in Kathmandu, ADB convened the first-of-its-kind Regional Symposium on Forest and Protected Areas Legislation and Jurisprudence: Bridging Law and Science which brought together judges, lawyers, policy makers, legislators, enforcement agencies, civil society, scientists and forestry experts to discuss forest protection and sustainable forest management based on a whole-of-the-planet approach and underpinned by science and technology.
