Youth climate activists globally have ramped up climate litigation to protect their future. On 11 June 2021, the Human Rights and Climate Change Symposium hosted a panel discussion on Climate Change and the Rights of a Child. Briony Eales, Team Leader (Consultant) of ADB's Environment and Climate Change Judicial Capacity Building Program, joined Greta Thunberg's lawyer, Ramin Pejan, and Julia Olson, the plaintiffs' counsel in Juliana v. United States, to highlight developments in climate litigation. Professor James R. May—Distinguished Professor of Law, Founder of the Global Environmental Rights Institute, and co-Founder of the Dignity Rights Project and the Environmental Rights Institute at Widener University Delaware Law School—moderated the discussion. Watch the recording.
