XXX* vs. People of the Philippines, G.R. No. 241390, 13 January 2021

Petitioner's wife filed a complaint for Anti-Violence Against Women and Children against him and testified that during their marriage, he was in the habit of getting drunk and womanizing. She thereafter learned that he was having an affair, and was allowing his mistress to visit and live in their family home. The Supreme Court held that it was duly established that petitioner committed psychological violence through marital infidelity and public ridicule or humiliation, which caused mental anguish and emotional suffering upon his wife.
