Wildlife Act 1965 (Singapore)

The Act enumerates the punishable offenses which include intentionally feeding wildlife, releasing wildlife, and killing, trapping, taking, or keeping wildlife in a place without the approval from the Director General of Wildlife Management. The amended Act bestows wider power and latitude to the Director General of Wildlife Management to direct a person to implement any wildlife-related measure that it deems necessary to safeguard the healthy, welfare or safety of any wildlife, or for public health or the health of the ecosystem. For purposes of determining whether an offense has been committed, authorized officers are conferred with powers to search, seize, examine, arrest without warrant and require information about any contravention of the provisions of the Act.
