Whistleblower Act (Papua New Guinea)

The Act enables employees to disclose information which shows that their employer, or another employee of the employer has engaged in, is engaging or intends to engage in conduct that constitutes impropriety including commission of a criminal offense, a failure to comply with a legal obligation, a miscarriage of justice, endangering the health and safety of an individual, environment damage, unfair discrimination, and deliberately concealing any conduct mentioned above. It prohibits the employer from subjecting the employee who made a protected disclosure from any occupational detriment such as being subjected to disciplinary action, being dismissed, harassed or intimidated, among others.
