Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park Act, Republic Act No. 10067 (Philippines)

The Act established the technical description of the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park (TRNP) which is composed of the Tubbataha Reefs and the Jessie Beazley Reef in the Province of Palawan. The technical description of a buffer zone is also included which pertains to areas outside the boundaries of, and immediately adjacent to the TRNP which requires special development control. The Act created the Tubbataha Protected Area Management Board as the policy-making body for the Tubbataha Reefs. The TRNP shall be off-limits to navigation, shall not be used for anchoring or a site for the the dumping of waste and littering. It shall also be unlawful to: 

  • Conduct bioprospecting 
  • Introduce exotic species of plants or animals
  • Catch, kill or fish any resource, in and from the TRNP
