Sustainable Singapore Blueprint, 2015

The Sustainable Singapore Blueprint is a response to the many global challenges facing Singapore today, such as climate change, supply chain disruptions and public health risks, pressures on water, energy, food and raw materials. The Blueprint outlines Singapore's national vision and plans for a more livable and sustainable Singapore. 

The Blueprint adheres to several principles namely: 

  • Develop an efficient city
  • Promote the use of public transport
  • Decentralize commercial centers
  • Provide a quality living environment
  • Conserve the natural and built heritage
  • Foster community spirit

The Blueprint targets fall under "A Livable and Endearing Home, A Vibrant and Sustainable City, An Active and Gracious Community." "A Livable and Endearing Home" envisions "Eco-Smart" endearing towns and a "Car-Lite" Singapore. "A Vibrant and Sustainable City" is geared towards a Zero Waste Nation and a Leading Green Economy.  Finally "An Active and Gracious Community" refers Singaporeans who are exemplary stewards of the environments, whose second nature is to come together to care for common spaces and the environment.
