Strategy for the Development of Samoa 2016/17–2019/20, 2016

The Strategy for the Development of Samoa outlines the priorities of the Government over the four-year period and the targeted strategic outcomes. The Strategy identifies four priority areas with 14 key outcomes. The Priority Areas are economic, social, infrastructure and environment. Under the economic priority area, the key outcomes are increasing and sustaining macroeconomic resilience, increase in agriculture and fisheries productivity, increase in export products, improvement in tourism development and performance improvement, and enhancement of private sector participation. Social key outcomes include promotion of health and well-being, improvement of the quality of education and training, and strengthening of social institutions. Key outcomes under Infrastructure include sustained access to clean water and sanitation, improved transport systems and networks, improved and affordable country wide ICT connectivity, and quality energy supply. Finally, under Environment, the key outcomes are improved environmental resilience, and increased climate and disaster resilience.
