Strategic Action Plan Energy Sector, 2009 (Palau)

The Strategic Action Plan of Palau for the Energy sector forms part of the country's strategic actions in addressing two major challenges, namely, the risks of climate change and the need to deliver clean, secure and affordable energy for all citizens of Palau while treating the environment responsibly. Essentially, the Action Plan is a roadmap towards a greener and less vulnerable energy future for Palau. It envisions a reliable and resilient energy sector delivering Palau sustainable, low emissions energy services by providing clear direction on the future of Palau’s energy sector, appropriate regulation to securely deliver energy services at competitive prices, maximizing cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy resources and conservation of energy while safeguarding the environment, promoting environmentally sustainable energy technologies with the aim to substitute imported fossil fuels and supporting consumers through the transition towards a new energy sector.
