Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan Act, 1997 (Pakistan)

The Securities and Exchange Commission was established to regulate the issuance of securities, regulate the business in the Stock Exchange and any other securities markets, supervise and monitor activities of any central depository and Stock Exchange clearing house, and register and regulate intermediaries who may be associated with the securities markets in any manner, among others. 

The Act provides for the composition, functions, powers, rules on conflict of interest, and disqualification and removal of the Commissioners and Members, among others.
