Sanobar Khan vs. The State, 2018 PCrLJ Note 181 (Pakistan)

The case involved the killing of a man and a woman, which was allegedly committed in the name of honor. The woman came into a room to prepare her baby's cot while the man (the other victim) was sitting there and talked to her. It was for this reason that the accused killed the two victims. Subsequently, the accused sought criminal revision on the basis of a compromise between him and the heirs of the deceased. Citing the Criminal Amendment Act 2016, the court said that the crime committed in the name of honor is not compoundable, and establishes that compromise by itself does not nullify the effect of conviction, especially when people have been murdered on account of honor.
