The Act defined gender-based harassment in streets and other public places, as well as other privately-owned places open to the public. Gender-based harassment is also penalized when done in public utility vehicles which would also result in the cancellation of license by the perpetrators. The specific acts and penalties for gender-based sexual harassment in streets and public spaces are also provided.

Gender-based online sexual harassment includes acts that use information and communications technology in terrorizing and intimidating victims through threats and unwanted sexist remarks or comments online. Forms of this include cyberstalking, incessant messaging, sharing any form of media which contains sexual content or the victim's own photos, videos or information online.
