Rustam vs. State, 2013 YLR 2600, Sindh (Pakistan)

The case involves the crime of rape, with the victim committing suicide after a rape. An out-of-court compromise was reached between the family of the victim and the accused. The trial court considered the evidence on record and found that the rape had indeed occurred but the parties compromised. After the compromise, the witnesses became hostile and resiled from their evidence. No court order was issued against the hostile witnesses, and the accused were acquitted at the appellate stage.
