Rules on Climate Change Impact Assessments, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Circular No. 08/2016/TTBTNMT, 2016 (Viet Nam)
The Circular regulates the impact assessment of climate change. The Circular provides what the assessment must cover including the impact of climate change on natural disasters such as the scope, intensity and frequency of hydro-meteorological disasters; assessment of the impact of climate change including water resources, land resources, forest resources, marine and island resources, minerals, energy, biodiversity; assess the impact of climate change on the environment including naval, hydraulic fluctuation dynamics of the sea (waves, tidal flow, the water surges, saline intrusion); erosion, accretion of coast, hydrological fluctuations in surface water, groundwater hydrology, flood, flooding, flash floods, avalanche, meteorological fluctuations in climate (droughts, frosts, heat, rain); fluctuations due to land erosion, accretion; land degradation due to desertification, salinity intrusion; and terrestrial ecosystems, ecosystems, ecosystem region under water and other ecosystem. The Circular also defines the responsibilities of the government offices and agencies involved in the impact assessment.
