Regulation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia No. 3/2017: Guide to Trying Cases of Women Before the Law

Judges are enjoined to examine trials according to prevailing facts which consider gender equality, gender stereotypes and must apply international convention principles related to gender equality. Judges are prohibited from issuing statements that belittle Women Before the Law. The regulation further allows judges to suggest Support Persons in cases when they deem that the Women Before the Law have suffered physical and psychological obstacles.
