Public Solicitors Act 2021 (Papua New Guinea)

The Act provides for the Public Solicitor's functions which is to provide legal aid. It also sets out the provision for the application of legal aid, which shall be determined upon consideration of the means of the person applying for legal aid and the merits of a case for which the applicant applies for legal aid. It also requires the Public Solicitor to open and maintain a trust account with approved banks to hold monies on behalf of his clients.
