Philippine Energy Plan 2018-2040

The Philippine Energy Plan (PEP) for 2018-2040 was formulated in response to the government's long-term vision for Filipinos to have strongly rooted, comfortable and secure life. To achieve this vision in the energy sector, the PEP embodies the following objectives: 

• Increase the production of clean and indigenous sources of energy to meet the growing economic development of the country.
• Decrease the wasteful utilization of energy through the use of energy efficiency tools and strategies.
• Ensure the balance between the provision of reliable and reasonably priced energy services, support for economic growth, and protection of the environment.

The PEP likewise embodies the policies and laws that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of affordable and clean energy, such as the Renewable Energy Act, Energy Efficiency Act, and the policy on Resiliency of Energy System and Infrastructure. These are integrated in the energy demand and supply scenarios of the PEP.
