Perspective Plan of Bangladesh 2021-2041

The Perspective Plan of Bangladesh 2021-2041 has two principal underpinning visions: (a) Bangladesh will be a developed country (High-Income Economy) by 2041, with per capita income of over USD 12,500 in today’s prices, and fully in tune with the digital world; and (b) zero poverty by 2041. It intends to realize the transition through a process of rapid inclusive growth leading to the elimination of poverty while increasing the productive capacity, building an innovating knowledge economy and protecting the environment. It targets a real GDP grown of 9.9% by FY 2041, with extreme poverty at <1.0% and poverty at <3.0% within the same timeframe. The plan lays out the approach and strategies for attaining this 2041 vision. These include good governance institutional foundations, macroeconomic stability, quality education, harnessing the "demographic dividend" from the increase in working-age population, creating an innovation economy, building transport and communications infrastructure for sustained growth, managing urban transition, as well as managing environment and climate change for sustainable growth.
