Paris Agreement Implementation Plan, PM Decision No. 2053/QD-TTg, 2016 (Viet Nam)

The Paris Agreement Implementation Plan identifies specific tasks for mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, indicating the prioritization for each task (i.e., mandatory, priority for continued implementation, incentivized or encouraged to be implemented). It also indicates the lead agency or coordinating body, the year of completion and financial resource. Among the tasks enumerated are: 

  • Conducting periodic GHG inventory and evaluating efforts in GHG emission reduction
  • Formulating policies to encourage development of solar and wind energy, and an action plan to develop renewable energy
  • Reviewing current regulations and developing the roadmap to participate in global GHG emission reduction activities
  • Establishing a domestic carbon market
  • Develop and implement proposals for the mitigation of GHG and its emissions for industrial, transportation, construction, agriculture and rural development sectors
  • Mitigating GHG emissions of industry and trade in order to implement the nationally determined contribution
  • Mitigating GHG emissions of construction industry
  • Implement GHG emission reduction of agriculture and rural development
  • Implement other suitable GHG emission reduction activities
