National Sustainable Development Strategy 2005−2025, Revised 2009 (Nauru)

The National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS) of Nauru envisions "a future where individual community, business and government partnerships contribute to a sustainable quality of life for all Nauruans," which underscores the intended outcome of sustainable improvements in the quality of life in Nauru. Moreover, partnerships between government, business, community and individuals is a necessary means to achieving this vision. The NSDS adopts the five long-term goals enunciated in the 2005 strategy, namely, (i) stable, trustworthy and fiscally responsible government, (ii) provision of enhanced social, infrastructure and utilities services, (iii) development of an economy based on multiple sources of revenue, (iv) rehabilitation of mined out lands for livelihood sustainability; and (v) development of domestic food  production. The NSDS presents revised sector goals. as well as sector strategies and milestones. The sector goals include economic sector goals, social and community sector goals, infrastructure sector goals, and cross-cutting sector goals.
