The National Penal (Code) Act, 2017 (Nepal)
The National Penal (Code) Act of 2017 provides for Nepal's general principles of justice, defined crimes, the modes for the commission of crimes, gravity of the offenses and penalties therefor. For the first time, the National Penal (Code) Act of 2017 penalizes enforced disappearances and Chhaupadi or the banishing of a woman to a shed during menstruation.
