National Pandemic Act 2020 (Papua New Guinea)

The Act sets out the process for the declaration of the existence of a pandemic, pestilence or public health emergency. It requires the State to coordinate a National Response through the establishment of a National Control Centre. 

The Act further provides for the functions and duties of the Controller and Deputy Controller who shall be appointed by the Head of State. It also provides for the rules on provincial coordination as well as stakeholder engagement during the existence of a pandemic, pestilence or public health emergency.
